Installation on Mast

The anemometer sits on its receptacle: either a top mast mount when the sensor board is power wired, or a Sunbank dock for solar-powered installations.

Top Mast Mount​

  • Attach the mount to a mast and secure it using the provided zip tie.

  • Orient the base arrow toward the north using a compass.

  • Tighten the zip ties to prevent rotation.

  • Alternatively or additionally, the mount can be secured with a screw at its base.

Sunbank Dock​

Before outdoor installation, fully charge the battery via the USB-C port as described in the initial charging section.

1. Attach the Dock with Zip Ties​

Secure the mast dock to the mast using zip ties.

2. Set the Orientation​

Orient the dock toward the south using a compass, so that the solar cells face the sun.
If you are in the southern hemisphere, orient it toward the north instead, and use the southern hemisphere vane in place of part #1.

3. Secure the Position​

Insert and lightly tighten the anti-rotation set screw to prevent the dock from turning.

4. Mount the Solar Body​

Insert the solar body onto the dock.
